This ornament is hand-crafted by Childress Jewelers and is the third in a series
that the McCall Hospice House of Greenville will offer. Proceeds from this sale
support the efforts of the hospice house and end of life care for those occupying
the house.
The 2007 McCall Hospice House ornament is in memory of William Blaine Gilpin,
third son of Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Gilpin and nephew of Dr. John Gilpin. William
Gilpin was just an infant when he died of a brain tumor on April 8, 1999. The
Gilpin’s chose the lamb symbol for the ornament because it reminded them of the
gentleness of their little son and the divine tenderness of the Christmas Nativity.
When you look at the ornament each year, we hope that you will reflect on the
merciful care provided by the hospice house to our community. With your help,
we can continue to provide a loving, home-like place for terminally ill patients
and their families.
